Mike Gentry is Vice President of Business Development for Apex Exit Advisors™. For almost a decade, Mike has forged his way to become recognized in the healthcare and medical fields as both an entrepreneur and consultant to various market segments for major healthcare companies.

In 2002, Mike saw an opportunity emerge within the aging population of the home incontinence market. He capitalized on this emerging trend and became Founder/CEO of DHP Home Delivery Co., Inc. DHP quickly became a national supplier of medical products to over 50,000 customers in the home care market. In 2010, Mike sold his 100% interest to a US-based private equity group specializing in the healthcare industry. Post sale, Mike served as the lead consultant to acquire additional companies within this market space. His opinion is often sought by major healthcare suppliers that continue to utilize direct and supplier wholesale channels to this growing demographic of aging citizens.

From founding a business to growing and selling it, Mike passionately admits that he wishes he had surrounded himself more with trusted advisors to help him work “on his” business to create greater enterprise value than “in his” business. He explains, “Clearly, if I would have known the importance of planning then versus what I know now, I never would have left all that money on the table. I did very well, but it’s clear that exit planning increases value ten-fold or possibly greater.”

A graduate of Jacksonville State University, he enjoys all types of hunting and sports, craft brewing, and music.  He attends Christ Episcopal Church in Birmingham, AL.
